Jordyn completed the RARO Artist Residency Program in Buenos Aires during the months of May and June 2018. During her residency, she worked in three different studios to complete her painting and video installation project.

Her intentions during this experience were to challenge her own work by way of new mediums and concepts. She is primarily a painter, and during her time there, with the help of her studio placements and the RARO team, she took her paintings and turned them into a digital animation. The concept of the work was about confronting one’s demons, and she draw a specific focus to the internal demons that women face. The work points to the importance of accepting these demons as part of ourselves. At the end of the residency RARO held a solo exhibition for her work.

“The RARO Artist Residency Program provided a platform for me to grow artistically, meet and collaborate with artists, network with curators, and most importantly develop a lasting bond with the RARO team.”
